Anny Catalina Vergara Gómez is a doctoral student in the Hispanic Linguistics Program. She began teaching Spanish in 2011 and later completed a B.A. in English Teaching and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics of Spanish as a Foreign Language at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. Her academic and teaching trajectory has been shaped by working with adult learners from a wide range of nationalities, professional backgrounds, and age groups. She is particularly interested in language acquisition, inclusive pedagogical strategies, and intergenerational language education. Her master’s research explored vocabulary learning strategies for older adults in mixed-age classrooms.
